Who is the 18-50mm F2.8 for?

The 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is the smallest and lightest lens in its class*, weighing only 290g. It almost fits in your pocket! It supports a variety of shooting situations, from introductory single-lens mirrorless cameras to video shooting and in combination with full-frame cameras (used in crop mode).

*As an AF compatible, F2.8 constant aperture zoom lens for APS-C (as of October 2021, by SIGMA)

Being a very versatile lens, it is perfect for landscapes, street photography, architecture and events. Thanks to its minimum focusing distance of only 12.1cm, it is also great for macro-style close-up photography, and with the smooth and attractive bokeh it is ideal for shooting portraits.
